Important MIAFR Notice Regarding Michigan Public Act 377 of 2012

According to the Michigan Public Act 377 that was recently passed and signed into law, consumers can purchase a handgun without a permit if they work with a FFL dealer that has a type 01 FFL license. As a dealer if you have any other type of FFL license you must require that your customer’s have a permit to purchase issued by a local police agency or those that have them can use their CPLs.

The Michigan Association of Firearm Retailers is working closely with the ATF, the Michigan State Police, the Governor’s office and Senator Mike Green’s office to address this situation.
